High Point Central High School is celebrating a major achievement from one of its newest STEM teams. The school’s all‑female robotics team, Not XY Robotics (Team 79633), recently competed in the 2025–2026 North Carolina FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) State Qualifier, held at Salem Academy in Winston‑Salem.

In their rookie season, Not XY Robotics made an impressive debut, earning the prestigious Judge’s Choice Award. This award recognizes teams that stand out for their creativity, teamwork, perseverance, and overall impact—an honor that speaks volumes about the dedication and talent of the students involved.

Competing against experienced teams from across the state, Not XY Robotics finished 13th overall, just two spots behind High Point Central’s veteran team, the Bison Bots, who placed 11th at the qualifier. The strong performances by both teams highlight the growing strength of High Point Central’s robotics program and its commitment to hands‑on, real‑world STEM learning.

As an all‑female team, Not XY Robotics also represents an important step forward in encouraging young women to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Their success demonstrates that innovation, leadership, and problem‑solving know no gender.

Congratulations to the Bison Bots and Not XY Robotics on an outstanding first season. High Point Central looks forward to seeing what these talented teams will accomplish in the years ahead.
